On November 12th, I learned to knit using the traditional Russian technique. I knitted when I was in my teens and 20s, but I thought it was difficult = not fun. I made 2 pairs of socks in 1981 (they went directly into the bad memory file) and said I was officially done with knitting. Well, Lizochka, the expert, has changed my mind. Russian knitting is much easier! Or maybe I've evolved.
This month I knitted 2 truly ugly dishrags for practice. Next, I made a cowl (alpaca wool) Molly is wearing it here. Then, feeling invincible, I made 2 scarves (photographed below in an artsy way).

See how I'm NOT a photo stylist? The scarves used up 4 balls of Noro Silk Garden yarn. I didn't care so much about how the scarves look, I just liked the yummy colors.
Stay tuned because I have started a SOCK. It's just an experiment. No sock anxiety here.

Gorgeous work. I knit...but only straight things!
