No question is dumb! The fabric pieces are sewn directly onto a paper diagram/pattern. Another name is foundation paper piecing. You could used a cloth foundation, also. It's a way to replicate a design precisely.

Nice Pages! I love the polka dots! Must find some for my pages. I'm a Sara Midda fan from way back too! I actually bought more than one copy of her books and I *might* be brave enough to use some of her artwork in my next signature - thank you for the idea!

Thanks, for your comments. I think some journalings spots could be added, some doodling, some of my own photos, some scraps and tidbits from daily life. Some of the pages are transparent pockets, waiting for filling. I could also add some CAT HAIR which is part of my everyday life!
I'm struggling to remember where those images came from...I had some old copies of Muse magazine (for kids), that is the most likely source, and my best guess at the moment.

Thank you, thank you all. I used Sara M.'s calendar in the journal, so I wasn't brave enough to take the actual book apart. I wish she had a blog, or website.

I am getting such a kick of inspiration from all the Remains of the Day journalmakers, from Mary Ann, and Mona, too!

That's not a weird question, Pat. I do sometimes, and sometimes I don't. This is not a diary type journal. I don't do the pages in order, and I have purposefully let go of any 'writing rules' or 'art rules.'
This page does have a teeny tiny date on the bottom right, though.
